A majority indicated to be getting ‘increasingly tired’ of hearing bad news from developing countries.

It is a very sad fact indeed that consumer purchasing power will decrease by 0.25% in 2008. Oh no, how will we overcome this? Instead of eating 38 Big Mac hamburgers we may only be able to buy 37, oh the humanity!

On a more serious note, let’s see where a substantial part of dutch wealth originates from:

Van de negenhonderd ondervraagden gaf ruim 52 procent aan het oplossen van problemen in Nederland belangrijker te vinden dan het geven van ontwikkelingshulp.

Een meerderheid van de respondenten zegt ‘zo langzamerhand moe’ te worden van het slechte nieuws uit ontwikkelingslanden.

Het is inderdaad wel heel erg triest dat de koopkracht in 2008 0.25% zal dalen. Ach en wee, hoe komen we hier bovenop? In plaats van 38 hemaworsten zullen we er misschien slechts 37 kunnen kopen, oh het gaat zo slecht met ons!

Even serieus, laten we even kijken waar een belangrijk deel van de nederlandse rijkdom vandaan komt:

If the lie is repeated often enough, people will eventually believe it.

The halal way of slaughter is more hygienic and more humane than what is done to the animals in the west. The animal almost doesn’t feel any pain at all (even less than when it receives an ear tag) and it quickly loses conscience, after which the maximum amount of blood comes out of its body, keeping it as clean as possible.

In Germany research has been done 25 years ago and it was concluded that indeed the halal method is more humane and cleaner than any of the western methods and the German court has confirmed this finding: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dhabiha

1. Seeing that Kosher and Halal are nearly identical from a scientific point of view, is Mr. Wilders rethinking his original view that the “Jewish-Christian tradition” in the Netherlands should be preserved at all costs?
2. Is Mr. Wilders happy eating a pork sandwich, from a pig that was castrated without any anesthesia, after which it had to spend the rest of its life on a single square meter?

een zeer dieronvriendelijke en dieronwaardige slachtmethode

Als de leugen maar vaak genoeg herhaalt wordt, gaat men het vanzelf geloven.

De halal slacht methode is hygienischer and humaner dan wat men in het westen met de dieren doet. Het dier voelt nagenoeg geen pijn (iig minder dan wanneer men een identificatie tag in het oor plaatst) en verliest zeer snel het bewustzijn, waarna zoveel mogelijk bloed het lichaam verlaat. Hierdoor blijft het vlees schoner.

In Duitsland heeft men reeds 25 jaar geleden onderzoek gedaan en men concludeerde dat het inderdaad beter is dan westerse methodes en de Duitse rechtbank heeft deze conclusie bevestigt: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dhabiha

1. Aangezien Kosher en Halal vanuit wetenschappelijk oogpunt nagenoeg hetzelfde zijn, komt Dhr. Wilders dan terug op zijn oorspronkelijke standpunt dat de “Joods-Christelijke traditie” in Nederland koste wat kost behouden moet worden?
2. Is Dhr. Wilders dan blij met een broodje varkensvlees, van een varken dat zonder verdoving is gecastreert en daarna zijn
leven lang op 1 vierkante meter moet blijven?

Now that that is out of the way, I invite you to read the ‘About’ link on the right to get a quick idea on my motivation for starting this journal.

There have been many news stories in the past that ticked of my personal crapola detection sensor and maybe I’ll retrace some of the main ones and post them here. However, for the time being I’ll simply try to keep up with current events. My main centre of attention will be the Dutch, British and USA news.

Vind U het woord ‘blog’ ook zo lelijk? Laten we ipv blog dan tijdschrift gebruiken, aangezijn ik om de zoveel tijd iets schrijf ;)

Nu dat dat uit de weg is, nodig ik U uit om de ‘About’ link rechts te klikken om snel een idee te krijgen over mijn motivaties om dit weblog te starten.

Er zijn in het verleden veel nieuws berichten geweest die mijn persoonlijke onzin detectie orgaan lieten rinkelen en misschien zal ik de belangrijkste daarvan met de tijd terugvinden en hier bijvoegen. In de tussentijd zal ik echter proberen om met het hedendaagse nieuws bij te blijven. Ik zal het meest op het nieuws van NL, Engeland en de VS letten.
